Lisa Wairoto is a special donor for Adira. She shared her birthday with us by hosting a birthday fundraiser on Facebook—and raised $500! We asked her some questions for our spotlight series.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I have lived in the Richmond area for almost 15 years and a native of Virginia. I enjoy spending time with my family and am passionate about helping others.
What draws you to Adira’s mission?
I believe everyone should have access to health and wellness through health care. I think more awareness is needed for neurological issues and the access barriers to care associated with those diseases. I believe Adira is a conduit of the change needed to bring more awareness and care initiatives for those with these diseases and those that are caregivers.
Tell us about your Facebook fundraiser…
I love birthdays. During COVID-19 and all the changes going on I thought of ways to make a difference. I saw the Facebook fundraiser opportunity and immediately thought of Adira. I have a lot of caring friends with big hearts and I was very thankful for their contributions.
